Mini Mozart

Newsflash: We got a digital piano!!!

I have always wished I could play the piano. Especially after I realized how few people do anymore. Our ward could definitely use some help! I was talking to Mike's mom about this a few months ago (who is a veteran piano teacher and incredibly talented musician) and she encouraged me to go for it--it's never to late to develop your talents, right? So with some money I earned, combined with my birthday and Father's Day, we bought this pretty little Yamaha and it has already been so much fun! I can only play "Mary Had a Little Lamb", but Mike and Emily have been picking out hymns and I love the sound of music floating through the house. Hopefully next week I will start my self-lessons with the church's piano curriculum using the Hymns Made Easy. Wish me luck!

I took piano lessons for a few months when Kyler was about the same age :) I really enjoyed it! I just couldn't find anyone when we moved that did adults :( But once Hayden gets older I would like to again. Have fun!

Yippee! What a great addition to your home. So you asked me a question on my blog about the abc's, I just painted a red square and found mounting tape for the letters.

We miss you guys, have fun with the new piano! You have to post a video when you learn your first hymn, my suggestion is I am a child of God, it's one of the easiest in my opinion (I play the one out of the children's songbook, no sharps or flats).

Wow, that's a pretty little piano. I don't know what I was expecting, but that is nice! I'll expect all of you to make great progress so we can become the Jensen family musicians. Good luck with your lessons.

That's so cool! Good luck Lauren! That'll be fun for Maddie too. Mariah loves to "play" the piano.

Wow it looks so nice! What a great investment. You'll become amazing and teach Maddie how to play by the time shes 3. How fun and good luck!

That is awesome for you! I need to develop that talent more myself. My mom had 4 digital (yes four) pianos and then one regular piano while we were growing up because she taught group lessons. Anyways, when all of us girls got married, she gave us one...yipee! Where is mine? Oh, at my parents house in Utah :( We dont have room for it...sad day. So, yes, I am jealous of you.

That's awesome! We had my parents' piano when they were on their mission in Guatemala, but then we had to give it back. :( I miss playing.

Maddie is a piano playing prodigy! :)

oh we are already back in northern Utah! I will be here until the 5th but I'm guessing you are super busy with family. We'll try again maybe during the holidays again!

How cool that you have a piano! It's probably my favorite instrument. My mom is a superb pianist and I loved growing up with the influence of music in our home. I'm sure Maddie will love it and benefit from it too!
