We had a fun-filled weekend with visitors from the North country (Utah). Mike's little bro Seth, his wife Brooke, their baby Sammy, and Brooke's parents, stopped in Vegas on the way home from a trip to the national parks of northern California.
All our visitors are native to Atlanta where, need we say, it's a little greener. We decided to show them that there is some beauty in the desert, you just have to go up a few thousand feet!
Maddie didn't like the backpack much...

Ah, the mountains in the desert. It's fun to see familiar things. We miss those days with you guys. Happy Birthday tomorrow! I'll be calling sometime to chat.
How fun! I want to come visit and go on a hike! Looks like you had a wonderful time! :)
We just bought Kinsey those exact same tennis shoes from Walmart because we were going camping-I thought that they were pretty cute, expecially because there was not a big Dora on the side, which is hard to come by in Walmart. I bet Maddie loves camping! Kins has a ball if we are outside doing anything. We have one of those backpacks too and I have to agree with Mike that they are not the most fun things to carry around on your back. They get pretty heavy with a toddler in it!!
So, exactly what mountains did you go to? And how long did it take you to get there from Vegas? I just don't recall there being any mountains nearby there. Of course, my Vegas geography is sadly lacking. :)
Blake is always talking about how you guys go up Mt. Charleston. He keeps saying we should go. Maybe one day we will and will just need you as our guides.
