Chalk & other adventures

Thanks ladies, for all your great suggestions on the last entry! We got some sidewalk chalk and Maddie loved it. Her favorite part was putting all the chalk back in the bucket, but she did make some scribbles over our drawings.

She was also good at coloring her bum! :)

Emily has a fettish for jellies, so when I got a pair for Maddie they had to have a picture together.

We have been doing a little better keeping busy. Yesterday I took Maddie to Barnes & Noble and she absolutely LOVED it. She acted like a kid in a candy store... or bookstore, I guess! She pointed at every Elmo book and carried two around as she pushed all the bottons, climbed all the benches, smiled at all the shoppers, and ran around the kids section. She wasn't hurting anything so I just let her roam to her heart's content. We definitely need to try out story time at the library.
We had a great week planned with a RS meeting (and playdate for the kids), swimming with Auntie Em this afternoon, and our first babysitting co-op assignment tomorrow (I take up to 10 kids and get 'paid' with tickets, which I can then use to 'pay' for babysitting by other moms) . BUT it was all kiboshed by a yucky bug last night! Poor little Maddie woke up vomiting and kept us on an all night vigil to keep her and her bedroom cleaned up. It is just soooo sad when kids are sick! She was disoriented, shaky, weak, and lethargic. Thankfully, she woke up chipper this morning and wanted to eat and play, but we have to lay low so it doesn't spread. Which equals: BORING! :)

I was going to tell you to get chalk! I didn't know if Maddie was old enough, but it looks like she loved it! She is sooooo big!!!! She is my little girl that I miss so much. Send her to come see Auntie Noelle and cousin Emrie. I hope she feels better soon!

Yeah, heard about the throwing up from Mike today. Sorry that sucks!

On a side note they have a reading time thing for kids at pottery barn kids. I guess if you go a couple times they give you a gift certificate. We would probably try it if we lived closer but you are not too far away.

Thanks for the update, I go into withdrawal if I don't get at least a weekly Maddie fix. I'm counting days until you all come home to visit! Love you, Grandma J

Oh, I HATE the barfs...but I love the jellies. Did you have jelly shoes when you were younger? I absolutely did.
You need to come to Boise. It's the start of parade season. I don't know why but I love it. If you pay attention you can pretty much hit a parade every weekend for the next little while. It's a tradition for the boys and I.

Poor Maddie! Kenzie did the same thing Sunday night, I feel for ya! After I read your post the other day I went to the store and found some sidewalk chalk, I was gonna tell you about it but forgot because its been raining here so I haven't even got it out yet. Glad you discovered it and even more so that Maddie likes it!

ohhhh... i love sidewalk chalk. Landon is a sidewalk chalk scooge and doesn't even want our kids to know what it is! WHATEVER! I usually support Landon's decisions but that is just mean! That is one thing that i will just have to not tell him about i guess! I love maddie!!!

Cute chalk drawings. My niece loves them too, she could draw for days. And sorry Maddie was so sick!

I'm so sorry to hear that little Maddie was sick ... that's no fun at all! I hope it was just a quick 24 hour thing and she's back to her happy self. The picture of her and Emily's jellies is awesome!!!
