If we are not throwing up, we are snotty, hacking, feverish, grouchy, achy, etc. etc. etc. Just as I thought we were getting over one bout of illness, Maddie woke up with a raging fever and cough. So far nobody knows what it is. Strep and flu tests are negative, and it seems most like croup, but who knows. I am sick of being sick!!!!!!!!!! While I'm on the subject, I'm also sick of:
- stripping beds
- washing my cracked and chappy hands
- doing laundry
- children not eating anything
- our white walls
We have been trapped in our own house for almost two weeks now, aside from the occasional run to the store for diaper and other very necessary necessities. We missed church, which is really saying something. Actually, we may even have to give up one of our winter life-lines... the library. Oh, how we love story time and a few new books on a cooped up day. However, I think it was the culprit for our latest round of sickies. The only other place Maddie could have gotten sick was the shopping cart at Walmart, which could very well be the case. I think that is very rotten.
WHEW! Now that I have spewed that vile pessimism, let's move on to something a little nicer, shall we? Lemonade from lemons, right?
Since we couldn't go to church we watched Music and the Spoken Word and got out the Friend, which I just happened to pick up recently. I have great memories of the Friend growing up. It might still be a little over Maddie's head, but she loved the pictures and a few stories. We also tried this craft idea:

Sorry to hear you guys have been/are sick! Will is the King of Croup...he has had it over 2 dozen times. When he was younger the doctor would give him a prednisone shot. Then when he was older they gave him a prescription for the liquid meds...but it tastes so bad that I could never get him to take any of it. Not even when I tried to sneak it into a soda. The medicine didn't seem to help much either way. The worst is hearing them cough all night! Humidifiers help a little and my friend with twins swears by layering on the blankets and then cracking the window. Hope you all feel better soon!
I'm so sorry to hear that! Sick kids are the worst! Hopefully you've been able to stay away from the bug yourself! If Thursday is too much let us know and we'll plan a different day. Hope you all get well soon!
You are the coolest mom! Maddie's mini snowman is awesome. I hope you all get feeling better soon!!
I know how you feel! I think Kenzie got pink eye from a cart at the grocery store. No one else had it, she just woke up with it the day after we went. We've had colds and everything else too. I hope you all get feeling better soon! I love the idea of bringing snow inside. I hate being cold and wet so this would be a perfect way for me to play in the snow with my girls! :)
Lauren, you are such a creative Mommy! I love the snow in the house. I used to dread it because it ment that my brothers were going to put it down my neck! I think dad has even been known to do that. You make being a good mom look like it's easy as pie.
I sure love all you sickies!
