She did it! Our little Maddie took her first steps into toddlerhood. It's a bittersweet feeling--I'm proud of her but don't want her to grow up yet!
We were watching the funeral of President Hinckley when it happened. Uncle Landon held Maddie up and she walked the 3 or 4 steps into my arms! This video clip was within seconds of the first occurence. Since then, she has taken about 5 steps in a row, but is mostly content to hold our fingers or her princess car for balance.
A 'good job' hug from Mom

Auntie Dana put my hair in a little pony and made me some bows!

This all happened while we were in Utah visiting our new little niece, Emrie Jade. She is a little angel. Isn't this a sweet mommy/baby moment? Noelle is doing great and I think it's fun to have another mom in the family--I feel more understood. :)

Brrrrrrrrrrrr...

We woke up this morning to about 8" of snow in Draper. With a winter storm advisory all day we decided to start home early--and good thing because we had a rough drive! A white out between Cedar City and St. George gave us quite the scare. Mike got us home safely!!!
I'm a big girl now!

Yay for Maddie. I was kind of sad when Will started walking...of course those first steps are so cute, but I think crawling is about as adorable as it gets. Especially when they come crawling over to you as fast as they can get those little legs and arms to go. Sigh.
Oh my gosh! Is she seriously old enough to do that? CRAZY.
HOORAY! I feel like i have been waiting for that post my whole life! I can't believe she took her first steps! Its even a little bitter sweet from me...i don't want her to get older but she will always be adorable little Maddie! I wish I could have been there but it looks like you had a good time! Miss you all! Love you

It looks like you all had a blast together...YAY Maddie for walking! So, Noelle is in Draper and you guys are in St. George? By the way, thanks for the "good mom" comment...I pretty much feel like a glorified taxi/maid/cook most of the time...my life is SO glamorous, ha ha ha. Anyways, you look like a great mom too...you should be proud Lauren...Maddie is adorable!!!
So scary about the snow. I hate to drive in the snow it makes me so nervous. Glad you made it home ok. Good job to Maddie by getting her walking on.
Way to go Maddie! Watching these little babies learn how to walk is the cutest thing ever. The look on Maddie's face ... "ohhh, i don't know about this ... okay, i'm going". =) You make sure you give her a litte high five from us.
Heya guys- Great job Maddie! Now your mom will be chasing you everywhere:)
It still seems weird that Maddie is younger than the boys and Danny just started crawling. In a year they will be wrestling together tho! Hope you had a fun trip seeing the new little one. Glad you got home safe.
Yea Maddie! That is sooo good! I think we still have a while for that. Kinsey finally crawls now (seomtimes-when she feels like it) instead of doing the one arm army crawl. How long ago did Maddie start standing on her own?
Hi Lauren! Cute blog. I found Noelle's through some people and then saw that you had one too. Cute pictures of the family. Hope everyone is doing well...can't believe your little girl is walking. That is so fun and she looks great! Congrats for that and to Noelle for having a doll. That must have been fun to be with her. See ya!
i am such a proud aunt! love that little girl!!! you got a lot of comments quick! you are soooo popular sis! XOXOX dana
Looking at the pictures makes me want you to come back. There is just nothing like being together as a family. I'm heading home from Noelle's tomorrow and can't believe I have to leave sweet Emrie and not be able to kiss her all day long. I'm sure lucky to have so many wonderful children!
Hurray for Maddie! Oh my gosh, that snow looks wicked!
Holy big girl! Good job Maddie! We have been getting tons of snow here too. Granted it's not 8", but it is still more than we've ever had. I love it! I just wish it didn't make the roads yucky. Wouldn't that be great?!
Wow! that's great. I know what you mean about having another mom in the family, I was so excited when jen had Cayson and I didn't feel like the only one going thru it!
OH it was so fun to see you guys! Thanks for making the drive :) It was good to have you here to talk to about things. I'm sure I will be calling you with more questions!
Love you sis!
Hooray for the walker. I thought you were up here last weekend and I hope you had a good time! I'm glad you made it home safely! That storm was something else! I love the mommy/baby picture. That pretty much sums up the first few days - so adorable and so tired!
WOW I can't believe she is walking already! That is great! Way to go Maddie! Jacob isn't close- but he loves to walk circles around the coffee table.
from Grandma Andrews comes a big "WOW" for Maddie's taking her first steps! It is so wonderful that you captured it on video for her and her children and children's children to enjoy!
I love reading the blogs and can't wait to see you again in early March. Love, Mom
