I'll just tell it like it went:
Maddie's 2nd birthday was a gorgeous day! Grandma and Maddie enjoyed the sunshine in our lovely backyard. We noticed that the temperature was much cooler (maybe 70) than 2 years ago when Maddie was born. It was in the 80's and 90's in March! I prefer not to hit 90 till about May, personally.
Maddie helped me make her birthday cupcakes! She is a great beater licker.
This age is so fun! Maddie completely understood and enjoyed the gift-opening process. She would exclaim every time she opened one: "Nike's!!" or "Abby Caddaby!" or "new clothes!" It was quite entertaining.

Her favorite gift: a
new bike from Grandma and Grandpa!!! She loves to ring the little bell and thinks it's pretty cool that her buddy Abby has one just like it.
She also got a little stool and Elmo potty seat to get her excited about potty training. She has gone in the potty three times now! YAY Maddie! Now mommy just has to get excited about it.
The birthday song and cupcakes topped off a great day. I won't get too sentimental here, but I am so in love with my little Maddie girl. She is vivacious! She lives every moment to the fullest and wears her little heart on her sleeve. You never have to guess what she is thinking. That also means she is very strong willed... but her Grandma Andrews said something that has stuck with me: the Lord saved some of his strongest children to live at this time. So when she's driving me crazy, I need to just remember that it will benefit her in adulthood!
Happy Birthday sweet girl! We love you!
