End of School Activities

Tyler was so excited to get sorted into a house. Kindergartners aren't in houses, so at the end of the year they get sorted in a fun assembly with the whole school. He picked a name out of a bowl, and it was Fidelus! The girls are in Fidus, but he has some friends in Fidelus so he will have a fun time there next year.

That day was nice enough to have our first picnic!

It was Kate's first one of the year and she loved eating outside.

She has had all sorts of fun exploring now that it's warm outside. A whole new world...

Ty got to go on a field trip to Hee Haw farms for kindergarten. He was so excited to ride on a bus! He loved holding a goat.

Jake had a great end of the year in preschool. At Charlie's house they learned about summer safety and then got to watch Charlie's dad work a backhoe.

At our house we got ready for Mother's Day. the boys picked their mom flowers, painted their hands on towels, and made muffins to eat with Mom!

Ella had such a fun month of May in her 2nd grade class, because they had a theme for every day! On beach day she wore a hat and sunglasses. Other days included write with a pen day, chew gum day, wear all one color day, and read-a-thon day.

She practiced her moves for the dance festival allllll the time! 2nd grade's dance was Footloose. We actually had lots of dancing from all the grades at our house all month leading up to the festival. I love watching them practice!

The theme was 80's day so we worked hard on the poofy hair!

Maddie danced to "Take Me On" and totally had a blast!

Ella delivered with her darling dancing in "Footloose"!

Ty did an awesome job doing Ghostbusters!

We ate lunch together and enjoyed the playground with Jake and Kate.  We love dance festival day!!

The last week of school we sent a treat for Ty's birthday, since his is in the summer. We ended up doing it on the same day as Ty Wilson, his buddy down the street. They had doughnuts and Capri Suns's. He felt so special!

Jake's class had an end of year field trip to Farm Country.

He loved riding the pony.

These boys are so cute all together! We are sad to see the year end.

The last day of kindergarten was a little emotional. My boy has grown up so much. They kids were excited to bring strawberry plants to their teachers.

And at the same time we discovered that Ty has his first loose tooth!

Mrs. Gasser got to come and teach on the last day of school. Seeing her walk out with the kids was a tear jerker for us both.

Ms. Ange has been the best class aide ever! She taught for 2 weeks when Mrs. Gasser was in the hospital, and delivered the gifts and meals we collected from the kindergarten parents. She has a soft spot for Ty, and right after this picture she gave him a smooch on the cheek!

This was the last day the girls rode home from school at the normal time. There is nothing quite like watching for the big kids to get home from school... and next year Ty will be a big kid with them!

On the last day the kids only went to school for 1.5 hours. I went a little before the bell rang to take pictures. Ella's teacher Mrs. Laudie was at her son's graduation, but her fun student teacher Mrs. Wadsworth was able to teach that day. Ella blushed when I asked for a picture in the middle of class.

I was at Maddie's class in time to witness Mr. Braden's emotional goodbye to his class. For a few minutes he closed the door to give them one last inspirational speech, and then on the way out the door he hugged each one, lifting them off the floor in a bear hug. I could see Maddie waiting in line crying before she even got to the front. We were both in tears and asked if Maddie could flunk 4th grade... it's been such an amazing year for her!

Teachers and staff lined the sidewalk with bubbles and music as the kids left. We have such a cool school!

Since it was half day, we decided to have preschool graduation and an end of year picnic with friends in our back yard.

Cutest preschool grad I've ever seen! He can't wait to start with Ms. Janell at Leapin Learners next year!
