Letter V for Preschool

Jake's preschool is so much fun. We both love it. The friends are so fun and the mom's do a great job with the crafts and letter themes. We might make a book of the year, but I'll post my weeks so I can remember what we did.

It was our turn to do the letter V. The day before, I decided to look for some books on Volcanoes. Taking all my kids to the library can be a bit harrying, so I was worried about being able to find what I needed. When we got there the catalog computers were taken and my kids were scattering, and my blood pressure was rising. Just then Jake walked back to me holding up a book to put in my bag, and it was on Volcanoes. Just thinking of it now brings a tear to my eye, because the odds of that happening are slim to none with the thousands of books it that building. I knew that Heavenly Father was watching out for me.

Our silly reading circle.

We made V volcanoes with cotton ball smoke.

We ate volcanoes and lava for snack time.

We made our own eruptions!

The next time we did V for vegetable. First we made a veggie rainbow.

Then we talked about how they grow--above or under ground.

We talked about how they start as seeds and grow into plants.

And then we ate them! And used them to make our very own Mr. Potato Heads. The kids thought it was so fun to play with their food, and were so creative with their body parts.

And I love that you're always so good about recognizing God's hand in your life.
