My sweet little baby has had a hard weekend! This cute little smile is right before it all happened... I took the girls on a jog and we went to the park for a break. Ella loves the slides, but on the first run down the sole of her shoe caught on the side and her foot twisted awkwardly. I knew something was wrong when she wouldn't stop crying and wouldn't walk!!! We spent a few hours Saturday morning at the doctor's office and hospital getting x-rays. She was such a trooper. Thankfully they didn't find a fracture (and she won't have to wear a cast to her hip for a month!) but she still won't put weight on it. My once independent and busy little bee has to be carried around all day. She has figured out how to crawl again, but she gets really frustrated when she can't do things. Hopefully it is just a sprain and it will heal quickly!

In other news, we had a power outage for about 1.5 hours on Saturday night. I just happened to be right in the middle of cooking bacon for BLT's and scrambling eggs--shoot! Mike saved the day and finished everything on the propane grill in the garage. Maddie thought it was a grand adventure.

It was kind of fun to eat dinner and take baths by candlelight.

Lastly I just had to show this hilarious hairstyle we tried! I saw a little girl with really curly hair and assumed it was natural until her mom told me they just put it in tiny buns after a bath and then take it out in the morning (brings back memories of the sponge curlers I slept on every Saturday night in my childhood).

The buns were actually really cute on her.

The finished product!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about FRO! It was so funny! She thought so too, but in her words "My nursery teachers will laugh at me." I was surprised at her self-consciousness even at this age, but I couldn't deny they would probably laugh! We decided to practice again sometime and wet her hair down to use her natural darling curls.

I just saw you mention on Gini's blog that you teach sunbeams...so do me and Chris! If you have any ideas of how to keep them entertained and interested for 50 minutes, please share!!! Chris seems to do a lot better at it the weeks he teaches...he impresses me! I on the other hand struggle ;)
whoa! that is a crazy fro :) so cute though. Sorry Ella got hurt, hope she gets better soon !!
Poor little Ella!! That story put memories of Atley's poor leg into my head! I feel so sad for her though! I hope she gets feeling better soon!
And little Maddie... hahaha... her hair is so cute and curly! :D I love it! It made me laugh...
Poor Ella Bella, I hope she is getting around better today :(
I'm still giggling about Maddies hair.I used to come up with a similar look wraping my hair on rags. Too cute!
Poor little Ellers... I hope she feels better soon. And I am so glad that she didn't break any bones.
Maddie's hair was hilarious! I laughed so hard to see it. Zak said, "she looks like she's 30!" Friz, fro hair! Love it. If you figure out how to make it work, let me know! It could be way cute :) Though Maddie looks cute no matter what!
Poor Ella! I hope her little ankle heals soon. I'm so glad nothing was broken, how horrible that would have been!
Love the grill in the garage photos.
I remember foam curlers too, only when I used them, my hair looked like Maddie's after the buns. I can relate. A girl knows when she's pretty, and when she just looks silly, even a 3 year old girl!
So funny! We'll have to give it a try.
I hope Ella's foot is better now. That "FRO" picture of Maddie made me laugh because that is what Kaylee's hair naturally looks like after every nap (and some mornings!). Ahh, trying to control the FRO is fun.
Hope you don't mind that I'm browsing your blog a bit tonite! :)
My kids LOVED the power outage, too! What the?!
And Maddie's hair is hiLARious!! What I love is her HUGE smile like she's just absolutely beautiful! Too cute!
