I guess March hasn't all been about Maddie... I have more to say!
Dr. Suess week was fun for all. Ty got to take in his pillow and blanket and any Dr. Suess books we could find. Jake wore wacky socks and a hat on Wacky Wednesday.
For Ella's class door I used the Teacher Appreciation week theme, and added Horton Hears a Who because Ms. Sweat loves elephants!
For her class gift I found this cute print on an elephant and had everyone sign it.
Jake got a kite from Ms. Janell and loved flying it with his preschool friends!
Ella worked hard on her Book Bazaar all month, and it turned out so cute! She loved the Chinese fantasy and learning about their culture.
Ell has a hard time sleeping by herself... always has. So she often sleeps on the boys bunk bed with them, and this night she got Ty to sleep in her bed. They were so cute snuggled up together, I had to take a picture.
Jake, Ty, and Ella were really into leprechaun traps this year. They begged and begged until I helped them make some. We used super sticky electrical tape down inside the trap doors to catch him, and Jake got out his gold dollar to lure him.
We didn't catch him, but we think there were some green footprints on our traps! And he left us lots of candy and dyed the toilet water and milk green. Sneaky leprechaun!
Being a mom to these cute crazies is beautiful and hard and everything in between. I have been doing a lot of reading in the Ensign this month about how having a family is becoming less and less important in this world. There is a decline in the number of people wanting children, and populations are actually dropping. I truly have a testimony that having a family is my purpose on earth. They are my WHY. They are my work and my glory, just as we are His work and glory.
In the same vein, we were able to take our kids through the newly renovated Jordan River Temple. They love a chance to go inside those walls and see what everything is all about, and we are so lucky to live in Utah where we get the opportunity pretty often.
Like the Primary song, I know that "God gave us families, to help us become what he wants us to be. This is how he shares his love, for the family is of God."
And then onto Springtime!!! We love seeing our daffodils pop up first.
On the first day of spring Jake and Kate and I went on a walk to look for sign of spring. Jake found about 8, including lots of flowers, birds, bugs, and the sunshine. It was a beautiful day for a picnic at the park!
Then in true Utah fashion, the next day was rainy. Kate tried out an umbrella for the first time, and we made a fort in the living room to keep from getting stir crazy. It helped a little!
