I realize this is a shameless appeal for praise... but these were too much work to not display somehow! I wanted to make something special for Ella since I made Maddie's crib set... and Ella was born to a life of hand-me-downs. I found this fabulous link for
handmade baby quilts and thought it would be fun to make one for each of my girls for Christmas. When we were growing up, Dana was always the pink baby and I was always the blue, so I followed the same tradition and the second baby gets blue.

Everything was done before Christmas except the binding because it scared me. Well I conquered my fears and it was easier than I thought! I am a very beginner seamstress so these were a good challenge and I am happy with them!

I couldn't leave out a picture of the little one! She was so sweet all dressed up for church.

yes, very true... too beautiful not to display!!!
Those are darling-- how did you go about getting them quilted? (as in who did it and how much!)
ps: if you say you hand-quilted them I might pass out
Those are awesome Lauren! Great job!
good job sis! love that little bald babe!
Seriously, does your machine have quilting setting cuz they are CUH-UTE! Good job girl! Love the fabric pairings.
AMAZING! You can't say that you're a beginner anylonger! I wish that I could see them in person.
They are great! You should get a pat on the back :) I am afraid of binding too! It is what totally holds me back from blanket making...
They turned out sooo pretty Lauren. I'm so glad that you got brave and jumped in to quilting. Maybe you will be the next quilter in the famliy. Grandma will be so proud to know that someone shares her love of sewing little pieces of fabric together. Now what will you do when the girls wear them right out with love.
I'm glad you took pictures.
Way to go Super Lauren!!
Love, Mom
Clarification*** I had these quilted by a lady with a quilting machine for 25 bucks a pop! No hand quilting here! And all my sewing is done on my great-grandma's industrial metal machine with straight stitch only! :)
I'm impressed, Lauren! All that work AND with a new baby and a tot in tow. You are a Super Mama! You did a beautiful job!
Love the quilts. What a great gift for your girls. They'll always love them, I'm sure. I love that picture of Ella- so beautiful!!!
Very cute blankets!! What was the website? Ella is a doll and I love her little dress and bow.

Your right! Ella looks beautiful! I love those quilts. You're a very talented woman I must say.
Lauren you did a great job on the baby quilts! Your girls will treasure them always.
