Cousins Come

Noelle and family drove up from Texas last weekend for a wedding, and were able to stay and spend a few days with us too! It was such a treat.

The first day we started out at our house for lunch, and then went to Dana's for nap time. She bought a fun new slip n'slide and the kids had a ball.

Auntie Noelle is a baby snatcher and pincher.

That night we met all the dad's for dinner at Cubby's. We took up half the restaurant!

We headed back to Dana's and played till dusk outside.

The next day we played at our house again. These silly girls jumped on the tramp during a thunderstorm and got soaked to the bone.

That night we pulled out all the stops and had a pizza and ice cream sundae party.

Cute cousins... don't mind the burned spots on the lawn from accidentally leaving the sprinklers off for 4 days.

Dana carried Landon outside for fireworks (haha, only lasted a second!).

Uncle Zak got a big box of fireworks and put on a great show for us!

The last day we headed up to where Noelle was staying at Zak's parent's house in Salt Lake. They have a great yard and basement for entertaining kids!

It was hard to say goodbye, but we will see them again soon for our trip to Bear Lake!

Since we were already in Salt Lake we stopped by the Refugee Center to drop off a car seat that family and friends helped us raise money to donate. They asked us to take this picture to share on social media to help get the word out about their Serve Refugees app.

And again since we were already down town we stopped by to see Mike's new office! He moved there about 6 months ago and we had never seen the inside, so he have us a tour. We started with a family council in the conference room.

We proceeded to lessons in photocopying your face.

We made sure everyone was labeled.

And we ended the visit with a bang when everyone got to chose their own beverage from the stocked fridge! Thanks Mott MacDonald for taking care of our Daddy!

Peas, Parades, and Paint

That about sums up last week...

The peas are ready for picking and the kids have been snacking on them. I love this sight!

Baby Kate is getting so fun. She learned to grab her toes last week!

Some cute neighbor girls came over one day and asked if the kids could have their faces painted. They thought that was the coolest thing!

The next day of course the kids had to try face painting at our house too. They had also been painting rocks with nail polish and selling them on the corner.
It became the Maddie and Maycee beauty salon.

Lion & Tiger

 Lizard

 Butterfly

 A coupla cupcakes!

Another day we had a picnic in the yard complete with watermelon slushies.

Kate had her first try of real food... maybe not the best idea since she'll never like anything else after that sweet nectar!

Friday night is date night around these parts, and it was our turn to babysit in our group swap. We invited our favorite neighbors to join us too.

These girls were in doll heaven.

Saturday morning was the Lehi Round-up days parade. It was nice to watch it this year instead of walking in it with a float (thank heavens that was a one-time assignment). We love parades!

It was fun to sit with our neighbors and collect candy together.

The Circus Big Top float won the prize this year (I think it was the same ward that won last year!).

This little lady enjoyed her first parade.

Later that afternoon the kids got creative and had their own parade!

We had a circus float with a lion and giraffe, and a beach float complete with squirt guns. Cutest thing I ever did see!

I dunno though... these legs might win the award.

We wish our back yard had more shade, but we still love us a summer night outside.
