Mike's Birthday

This cute Daddy had a birthday! I have to recognize him for all his help with baby Kate. Of course his favorite thing to do is sleep with her, but he's also fed her a handful of bottles and she does really well! He is always happy to take care of her. She definitely has him wrapped around her little finger, as the saying goes!

Mike's birthday fell on the weekend we had the baby blessing, so we had lots of family in town. After a birthday breakfast of waffles and smoothies, he let ME go shopping with my mom and sisters! All afternoon I baked for the blessing lunch and he put up the trampoline!

For dinner my Dad and Grandma offered to take us all out, and even though we started early we struck out with wait times and large crowds at both Texas Roadhouse and Chili's. We settled for Mike's original suggestion--Chick Fil A! It actually turned out perfect because the food was delish, the kids were happy, and it wasn't busy!

Then we went to Jack and Jill's for a game of bowling!

Us old geezers aren't very good at selfies.

I took a picture of the screen because Ella beat Daddy! Of course she had bumpers but she got a ton of strikes and spares! She was thrilled.

Then it was home for cake.... carrot cake of course!!!

Present time was pretty entertaining because both Dana and I got Mike graham crackers without talking about it. In fact, Maddie asked if the kids could give him that so I bought a box.

Dana asked what they could give him and I had no ideas, so she bought two boxes for him, knowing he loves them.

1 + 2 = 3! Now he is set for a long time! :) He also got some work clothes, and money from my parents for camera equipment. Hope he had a good day!

Days of the Week

Here are some uncategorized happenings lately.

Ty dressed up for Wacky Wednesday at preschool to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. He asked for the mustache but then wanted it off for school, silly boy!

Ms. Janell was pretty silly too, with her sweater and apron on backwards, and her different shoes!

I decided it was time for Jake to learn some letters with Mommy. He soaks up the attention while Ty is at school and is so excited to tell everyone all about it as they come home. Our first letter was J for his name, and boy did he catch on fast!  He even wrote a few of his own (next to the sun). Yay for Jake!

We made a jellyfish and I was impressed with how long his attention lasted.

The next week (yes I can only handle one a week) we did C is for cookie!

My favorite thing is that now he sees those two letters in books and points them out "C is for cookie!"

Also on that Wacky Wednesday my neighbor invited us to join them at Jump On It's open gym time to get some energy out. The boys loved it!

Another day we went on a walk to the fishy park for a picnic. It was gorgeous!!

The kids always have a sleepover on Friday nights and this night I checked on them on my way to bed to find Ella and Ty ties up in knots. I had to turn the light on to get them untangled! Pretty funny.

Last Monday after the baby blessing we had tons of leftovers and I had the best lunch ever!

The tulips my dad bought for the blessing were in full glory.

My neighbor just got bunnies and she sent me pictures of my girls holding them. Cutest thing ever!

We didn't have school that day because of teacher inservice, so we went to the library in the morning. They love new books in the house!

The rest of the day they spent outside jumping on the tramp with friends. It was a good day!

Kate Amelia's Baby Blessing

Baby Kate was blessed on Sunday, March 6th by her daddy in the Dry Creek Ward, Lehi Utah South Stake. She cried a little during it but Mike was still able give her a beautiful blessing.

Grandma Marcia made the precious blessing dress. I sent her a picture I found, and we ordered the chantilly lace from Hong Kong. It made it just in time and Grandma worked her magic into a masterpiece! We enjoyed taking pictures of our little princess in her first white dress.

The morning of the blessing I happened to have Kate all to myself while my mom braided the girls' hair and the boys played in the playroom. It was a tender time for this mommy, bathing and dressing her last infant on her blessing day.

After her bath Kate needed a little nap. She looked like a mermaid with her body swaddled and her dress coming out the bottom.

After church we grabbed a quick picture of our family. I sure love all these humans!

Many family members from both sides of our family joined us for the blessing and the luncheon afterward. I tried to take lots of pictures so I can relive the day.

Kate was blessed,  and we are blessed to have her!
